Gaming PlayStation Plus adds day one release, is well worth downloading

No matter which tier of Sony's PlayStation Plus subscription service you're a member of, all three offer a plethora of video games to play at your disposal.

Of course, the higher the subscription that you join, the more video games and additional perks you'll have available to you. For example, PlayStation Plus Essential is basically the same tier before the revision in 2022 offering a small selection of games each month.

However, if you subscribe to PlayStation Plus Extra, you get a lot more PS5 and PS4 games to choose from as well as everything that's included in the Essential tier. Whereas if you subscribe to PS Plus Premium, you get everything included in the previous two tiers but with the addition of retro titles from the PS1, PS2, PS3, and PSP era, not to mention other perks such as trials, cloud streaming and a selection of free movies.

What's more, from time to time, you'll also get brand new video games on day one such as Tales of Kenzera: Zau, developed by Surgent Studios and published by EA. In our review of Tales of Kenzera: Zau, we said it's "a diverse story featuring wonder and beauty, I cannot recommend this game enough, but the nuts and bolts need tightening for it to truly soar."

And it's not just us who enjoyed our time with Tales of Kenzera: Zau, so did the video game community as indicated by its Metacritic score of 78 on PC and 76 on PlayStation. "Tales of Kenzera: Zau is a triumph," said GGRecon and XboxEra.

"With its heartfelt story, compelling protagonist, and solid metroidvania gameplay featuring excellent pacing, Zau's journey is one that resonates, especially for those grappling with similar grief to the young shaman," Wccftech wrote.

Tales of Kenzera: Zau is out now on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. It's also available at no extra cost for those who subscribe to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium.
